UPDATE: As usual, a great
time was had by all. We had a wonderful surprise,
when the daughter, Joy, and son, Richard, of the
original lead trumpeter of the Bill Dayton Big Band, Merle
Hildebrand of York, PA, stopped by. It was the first
time they had heard the band under the direction of Sandra and
Steve, and they were "very pleased with how the band
sounds". It was wonderful to have them join the fun at
Naylor's.

WOMEN VETERANS OF AMERICA PUBLIC
FUNDRAISER DANCE
April 3,
2009 (Friday)
-8:00 PM - 11:00
PM
UPDATE: This
was a very successful public fund raiser. A lot of
memories were appreciated by both the band members (many who
are or were military personnel) and those attending the
fundraiser. The affair was held at the Parkville
American Legion in Parkville, MD.
Both Cathy Chemi (former singer with the Harry James Orchestra) and Skip Stine (former trumpeter with the
Harry James Orchestra, and who
currently performs with the James "ghost" band) performed
with the Bill Dayton Big Band for this
event.
